Granite Arch Climbing Center
I know, kinda weird, right? I didn’t even know that “climbing” was a thing until about a year ago. Turns out that rock climbing gyms are where all those kids who love climbing trees end up.

This community is actually really amazing. Imagine a group of people who know how to have a TON of fun, have incredibly strong bodies, AND seriously care about the environment. The first time I stepped into a climbing gym I thought, “Wow this is strange, people really just climb rocks all day?” The second time I walked into a climbing gym I thought, “Wow, this is a community I wish I had known about 10 years ago!”

Needless to say, I love working at Granite Arch. This job has taught me many things that I never thought I’d learn, as well as things that I didn’t think existed. Public speaking used to terrify me; now I give presentations to large groups of new climbers every day. Selling products used to be a weakness for me; however, I learned here that all I need to sell a product is to believe in the product I’m selling. I also seriously thought that I needed to be passionate about the career I'm working in. Working in a climbing gym after trying so hard to break into the music industry helped me realize that a healthy work culture is all I really need to enjoy my job.
