So you've come to learn more about me...
I'll try not to overshare. That's me over on the left. I change my hair color every 3 months, I wear lots of black (it's totally not a phase), and I have a super cute smile!
Who am I?
Today I'm sitting at my desk, thinking about how to avoid writing the cliche, and the first thing to come to my mind was this little memory:
Like most kids, I was told to write about what I wanted to be when I grew up. Being 14, there was no way I knew what I wanted to do with my life. My mind changed literally every day. What never changed, though, was the fact that no matter what I did, I wanted to do it for the purpose of spreading happiness to others. So I wrote my essay about how I wanted to "make people happy." My teacher thought I was ridiculous. That's not a profession. All the normal kids wrote about becoming a doctor or joining the military and I was the hippie kid that just wanted people to be happy.
I did write a first draft about my childhood and decisions I've made since then. To be honest it was just plain depressing. Sorry to disappoint. Hopefully the thoughts in my head are a little more interesting.

Caring about the things that really matter and doing something about it is infinitely more important to me than trying to achieve a fancy job that pays lots of money. I had that goal for a while but it felt so self-centered. There are so many people without homes, so many civilizations that don't have clean water, so many trees being cut down, and so many endangered animals being hunted. How could I be working toward making millions so I can buy a gaudy house when I could be tackling a cause much larger than myself?

So, no matter how I do it, I want to change the world in some little way that makes people's lives a little better. I don't care if I'm doing it through music, writing, or any other medium. I don't care if I'm working for myself or for someone else. I do plan on running my own business one day, but until then I'd like to work for businesses with a similar goal.
